Bringing your dog into the U.S. through DFW? Your import pathway depends on where you're traveling from and what documentation you have in hand.
Below are the three main service tracks offered at our CDC-registered Animal Care Facility (ACF), so you can identify which applies to your dog before you arrange travel.
Ready to request an estimate?
Complete our online inquiry form and a DFW Pet Lounge & Quarantine specialist will review your documentation and provide a provisional service estimate. One inquiry per dog required.
For dogs arriving from high-risk rabies countries with complete documentation.
If your dog is arriving from a CDC-designated high-risk rabies country and already has all required testing and documentation — including a valid, passing rabies titer and supporting paperwork — your dog may qualify for our Fast Import Track. This is the quickest path to completing all the CDC and CBP requirements needed for our team to verify your dog's medical compliance at arrival, provide the exam and required rabies booster and facilitate release from customs bond hold without long-term quarantine required.
Ideal for: Owners who planned ahead and secured titer testing, meet veterinary requirements and can readily provide the full documentation prior to travel.
For dogs from high-risk countries without or failed titer results.
If your dog is arriving from a high-risk rabies country but does not have a qualifying titer test or otherwise doesn't meet the criteria for the Fast Import Track, U.S. regulations require a 28-day quarantine period, beginning on the date your dog receives a U.S.-administered rabies vaccination at our ACF. One of our affiliated USDA-accredited veterinarians will administer the U.S. rabies vaccination on arrival, our staff will provide full quarantine housing, feeding and care for the required period, after which your dog will be cleared for release.
Ideal for: Owners whose dogs need a U.S. rabies vaccination and the associated quarantine period to complete entry requirements.
For dogs from low-risk countries, or high-risk countries with qualifying prior documentation.
This track applies to dogs arriving from a CDC low-risk rabies country, or dogs from a high-risk country that hold either:
In these cases, no additional testing or quarantine is required. Our team manages the customs clearance process on your behalf, collects and houses your dog for up to 6 hours after landing until you are able to collect from the ACF.
Ideal for: Owners traveling from low-risk countries, or high-risk-country travelers with approved, original, valid rabies documentation.
Not sure which track applies to your dog? Contact our import specialists before you book travel — we'll review your documentation against current CDC requirements and confirm your pathway.
Every dog entering through DFW Pet Lounge & Quarantine undergoes a complete documentation review by our CDC-registered Animal Care Facility before services are finalized.
The service requested at booking is considered provisional until our compliance team verifies all documentation. If records are incomplete, expired, altered, or do not meet current CDC, USDA, or CBP requirements, your dog's service pathway may change to the appropriate import track required by federal regulations.

For dogs from high-risk countries without a qualifying titer result. Federally mandated 28-day quarantine required.
